MASN’s Mark Zuckerman joins the show to first discuss Ryan Zimmerman’s free-agency. The Nats and Zimmerman still have not reached a deal, which has left Doc and Galdi wondering why. Zimmerman reassures Doc and Galdi that they will reach a deal, but there’s just not a lot of urgency to do so. Ryan has made it clear that he doesn’t want to play/sign with another ball club and has already agreed to take a pay cut. He has lost all the leverage he had, so a deal with the Nationals will come, but everyone will have to wait a little longer for the two sides to figure out what Zimm’s compensation will be. Zuck thinks that both sides just haven’t figured out what his number is going to be. They also discuss how the in-field will look with Anthony Rendon’s departure and the Nats’ inability to land Josh Donaldson. Carter Kieboom is expected to fill third baseman role based off of Davey Martinez’ high praise for the second-year player. Doc, Galdi and Zuck discuss.
