Redskins Insider Ben Standig of The Athletic joins The Kevin Sheehan Show to discuss the possibility that the Redskins sign former Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen.

The Carolina Panthers released Olsen earlier in the week, per multiple sources. Then on Monday of this week NFL Insider Ian Rapoport really got the ball rolling on the possibility of Olsen signing with the Redskins after he tweeted, “visits are beginning soon: Olsen will visit the Bills and old friend Brandon Beane and then the Redskins and old friend Ron Rivera this week.”

So what are the chances Greg Olsen signs with the Redskins?

“Ron Rivera has brought everything that wasn’t bolted down from Carolina up this way,” Ben Standig tells Kevin Sheehan. “When you hear that the guy who’s been his number one tight end for the entire time he was there, and baring a couple of injured seasons was a really productive player including this past year. It makes total sense that Rivera would have interest, and that Olsen would be curious if nothing else about what his former coach has got going on in Washington.”

For his career, Olsen has 718 catches for 8,444 yards and 59 touchdowns, per ESPN Stats.
