For the first time under Justin Fuente, the Hokies have lost two straight games. They now head home to get a vulnerable Pittsburgh team who has underperformed all year long. Let’s take a look at some of the trends entering this one:

  • Virginia Tech is 11-12 ATS the last three years in ACC games.
  • The Hokies are 5-11 ATS the last 16 meetings with Pitt.
  • Pittsburgh has gone under in six of their seven games as an underdog this season.
  • They have covered just 14 of their last 36 games overall.

By all accounts, this should be an easy Virginia Tech win. I don’t think we get an unfocused team here seeing as though they’ve lost two straight. Normally, I’d worry if they were looking ahead to the titanic battle with the Wahoos but they need to take care of business this week. Pittsburgh has won two of their last three, but the loss came at home against woeful North Carolina so go figure this team out. This is a big number and I don’t feel comfortable with the Hokies -15. They could win this one rather easily, but they could also let Pitt hang around. I hesitantly give a pick in this one, but recommend you stay out of it.

Virginia Tech 27, Pittsburgh 16
