The Redskins lost a hard fought game to the Saints in overtime 34-31.

An intentional grounding call as Washington was driving down the field for a potential game winning field goal to end regulation caused the Skins to lose field position and in overtime New Orleans running back Mark Ingram obtained 51 yards on the Saints first two plays of OT in order to set up a 28 yard game winning Wil Lutz field goal.

According to a report, the league reached out to Redskins President Bruce Allen to say that the grounding call should NOT have been called.

The loss is even more bitter for Washington because the team will be without Chris Thompson for the rest of the season as he will have to undergo surgery for a fractured fibula.
