Sources tell The Athletic that free agent designated hitter Joc Pederson signed a two-year, $37 million deal with the Texas Rangers on Monday.

Pederson, 32, joined the Arizona Diamondbacks last offseason, signing a one-year, $9.5 million contract (which included a one-year, $14 million option, which Pederson declined). The DH hit a career-best .275 with 23 home runs and 64 RBIs over 132 appearances last season for the Diamondbacks.

Pederson made his debut in 2014 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and has also played for the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Giants.  In 2019 for the Dodgers, he hit a career-high 36 home runs, and has made the All-Star team twice — with the Dodgers in 2015 and the Giants in 2022. He also won World Series titles with Los Angeles in 2020 and Atlanta in 2021. In over his first 1,272 career appearances, the two-time All-Star and World Series champion hit .241 with 209 home runs and 549 RBIs
